Well– it’s not as easy as it may look.  Many people think that a concert sound system is just a glorified home stereo.  Although in some ways this is correct, there is more involved than plugging a few things in and turning knobs.

SAFETY PROCEDURES

First and foremost, there are many safety procedures that must be followed for both your own safety and to satisfy the local laws and codes.  Powering up a stage is something that most everyday people don’t even consider.  A stage with sound and lights can often draw hundreds of amps of electricity, so we don’t exactly plug things into the wall (which are typically only 15-20 amps) to power them up.  Electrical knowledge, skills, and proper licensing are required to make all this happen safely.

Stage design and rigging is also something to be left to the professionals.  Often, it is necessary for overhead lifting and rigging of very heavy equipment.  This is a specialized skill, regulated by OSHA safety standards and practices, and not something for the novice to jump into.

IMPROMPTU PROBLEM SOLVING FROM YEARS OF AUDIO EXPERIENCE

With our years of real world experience we have acquired vast problem solving skills.  In a perfect world there are no problems, but in reality anything can happen at any time.  Electronics (even brand new out of the box) can have a mind of their own and act up unexpectedly.  If or when this ever happens, we have the skills to track down and resolve any of these issues quickly.

EVENT PLANNING ASSISTANCE

We interact with all types of clients and artists daily, and understand how to communicate with each of them to ensure everyone gets exactly what they are expecting.

Technical riders can be confusing!  Sometimes, there are a whole set of international standards involved (e.g. European vs. American).  But, a professional knows this language.  We can interpret the riders and offer the proper substitutions necessary to make everyone happy.

Long story short, if you leave the job to a professional, you know the job will be handled safely and professionally.  This way, you leave a significant majority of your worries to us, and you increase the chances for event success tenfold.
